A story is told, of a father and his son who had been planning for a while, to go mountain climbing. They made all the necessary plans before the day and got all the equipment that was needed for the great task ahead of them.

On the D day, they woke up early enough, put their stuff together and set out towards the mountain. They began the long trudge up and all seemed to go well at the beginning. Something however went wrong when they got closer to the peak. The young man’s rope started making a cracking sound. Before long, the young man realized that the rope was breaking and he started yelling at his dad to help.

The father who was a few feet above the son looked down to see if there was anything he could do to help. He noticed that the son’s terrified eyes fixated at the breaking point of the rope but what was interesting is that, above the point were the rope was breaking, the rope was much longer and all the son had to do was to reach beyond and grab it.

So the father yelled back to the son saying, ” look beyond the break and reach for rope beyond” and he yelled for the second time, “look beyond the break, there is more rope, beyond.” The son lifted his eyes and reached for the rope beyond and he was saved.

Sometimes in life, we concentrate on things that have already happened and which we don’t have any control over and forget to move on-it could be, broken relationships, it could be failure to achieve our business goals. The truth of the matter is, there is more opportunity for us somewhere else. All we have to do, is trust that our God will provide for us and move. The good book say that, He has a good plan for each and everyone of us, a plan for good and not for evil. Once a window has been closed on our face, some other window is being opened somewhere else. We just have to trust Him.

Had the boy refused to heed his father’s plea to reach beyond and grab the rope, he would have perished. So will it be unto us, that if we don’t move on, we will die miserable due to lack of hope.
Trust, trust, trust in Him. Amen
