They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us; but they went out that they might be made manifest, that none of them were of us. 1 John 2:19
We, the human race are social by nature and that explains why we have the need to be with each other. In one’s lifetime, bonds will be created and bonds will be broken-this is a given. The problem however is that we have not always coped well with the latter.
The bible, in the book of 1 John 2:19 has a piece of advice for us-that we should learn to accept these situations whenever they come. God sends people into our lives for certain reasons and when that purpose comes to fruition, they leave. We also have those who will stick with us for the rest of our lives-those are of us.
The wisdom therefore given by God is to learn to cope with situations as they come-to understand that everything works for the good of those who love the Lord. And this means, “everything”-good or bad. The key here, is to have the courage to move on when God says so, and He will be available to lift us. Amen
