Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. Col 4:5,6
You have probably heard of the “moving billboards”-normally, this are private vehicles whose owners have signed contracts with companies to have their cars painted with commercials that advertise the companies’ products. Needless to say, these forms of advertisements have been very effective because they are not confined to one specific area. A contact number is often if not always, printed as part of the commercial.
We Christians ought to be like those “moving billboard.” The way we conduct ourselves, the things we do, should, at all times reflect the will and the true nature of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Somebody, once said, “I will become a Christian when I see one”. What that means in essence is that, if we practice what the religion of Christ teaches, we will become like a good commercial, a good “moving billboard,” which leads even the strangers to buy.
Paul therefore suggests that we should always walk in wisdom, that we should always have a gracious speech, which is seasoned with salt, so that in whichever situation we find ourselves in, the Lord’s name, will be glorified. Friends, let us season ours ourselves with wisdom that comes from God, that he may clean us and make us worthy representatives of Himself. Amen
