Is this love?
You have heard it was said, “love your neighbor and hate your enemy”. But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. That you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. Mathew 5:43-45
The Bible challenges us to extend our love and good acts and care not only to those few close friends and family members but also to people we consider unworthy and of little consequence to us.
Next time you pass by your bully boss or unfriendly co-worker remember to say hi with a genuine smile. Offer a hand of help to someone in need as you go on with your normal daily routine, it might be that elderly lady struggling with her groceries in the mall or it might be that homeless guy in the street. There are way many countless ways to extend our love to strangers.
Is this Love?
For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have an internal life. John 3:16
Let us always remember that God gave his love to us freely without us asking for it. In the same way and in the same spirit let us ask Him to help us so that we can give that same love to our fellow brothers and sisters.
