Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Phil. 4:4
The irony of these words is that, they were written by a man who was in jail, a man who had been in a number of shipwrecks, a man who had been beaten so many times for the sake of what he believed-Yet he repeats so many times this statement, “Rejoice”.
When we get to the point of truly understanding whom we serve, our hearts will be filled with joy. Paul had gotten to that point. His body may have grown weary from the hardships, the lashings, the shipwreck, but his spirit remained intact. He knew whom he proclaimed. The risen Lord renewed his inner being day by day so that regardless of were and how he found himself, he could still rejoice.
Prayer:”Lord, please renew our spirit and help us to know you better. Give us the joy that surpasses all understanding. Amen
